Summertime is a great time for having fun (woohoo it’s finally here!); it’s about going to the beach, hiking up the mountains and maybe doing some extra exercise to keep you looking your best. With that in mind, it’s also a time when your body sweats out the most nutrients. It is no doubt a beautiful time of year, but sometimes it can be dangerous, and not everyone makes sure to take the right precautions when exercising outside. It’s a daily requirement to drink at least eight cups of water per day, which most people don’t consume, and when you’re outside in triple-digit whether, that requirement is raised significantly. When you sweat, you’re losing valuable nutrients and that can lead to fatigue and heat exhaustion.
In order to maintain safety when working, playing or exercising in above average heat, remember these tips:
1. Drink lots of fluids!
2. Dress according to the weather.
3. Build up to your potential.
4. Make sure to consult a doctor or physician
5. Replenish all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients necessary for optimal health. I recommend Waiora’s Essential Daily Nutrients. You can read more about it here. This is the product that my family and I use because it’s the most complete nutrient on the market today.
Remember to take good care of yourself during work and play and have a healthy day!
